NAUI Basic Autonomous Diver Scuba Certification

Class Description: This is the entry level scuba course NAUI offers.  Immerse yourself in this training and become a certified diver!  Our entry level scuba certification course is where you will learn the fundamental knowledge and skills to safely scuba dive in open water. When you complete your class you will have earned a NAUI Scuba Diver certification card – the most respected diver certification card in the world!  Come on and dive in…a lifetime of fun, adventure, memories, experiences, and new friends awaits you! Try Scuba

Description: Interested in seeing if scuba is for you? Check out our Try Scuba Pool session. This class is one evening in the pool where we teach you the fundamentals of safe diving and let you experience the underwater environment on scuba. If the class leaves you inspired to begin your training, we will put the try scuba fee toward your Basic NAUI certification.

NAUI Training Assistant

f you possess the desire to assist in the training of other divers, a NAUI Training Assistant specialty course might be for you. This course will qualify you in the skills and knowledge necessary to perform as a training assistant during NAUI diver training courses overseen by an active-status NAUI Instructor.

As a certified NAUI Training Assistant, you will be qualified to temporarily directly supervise students while an instructor conducts skills with other students; escort students on the surface or on underwater tours; and assist an active-status NAUI Instructor with other tasks, all under the direction of a NAUI Instructor.

As a NAUI Training Assistant, you will learn more about underwater navigation, communications, how to escort and assist divers during an open water training dives and how to assist with problem management during diver training evolutions.

NAUI Advanced Scuba Certification

Class Description: Let your underwater adventure continue!  Apply your scuba skills as you explore new dive sites and activities under the supervision of your NAUI Instructor.  Learn which diving specialties interest you, and what type of diving you enjoy most.  Gain more confidence and capability in planning and leading your dives.  Begin to consider the direction diving will take you, as you go for everything it has to offer.  As part of your certification, you will complete a minimum of six open water dives including three separate dives for navigation, night or low visibility, and deep diving (130 feet/40 meters maximum depth), plus three different elective specialty dives of your choosing. Equipment requirements: In addition to mask, fins, booties, and snorkel, a compass, dive slate, and lights are required for advanced open water which you can purchase from us at the student rate.

Cost: Class prices start at $595.00 plus materials and includes open water training, and gear rental for 6 training dives. Price excludes air fills.

Enriched Air Nitrox EANx

Description: Do you want to extend your bottom time, lessen your surface interval, and maximize every dive? Become a NAUI Enriched Air Nitrox diver! This course may be taught as a stand alone program or may be combined with other NAUI training programs such as NAUI Scuba Diver or NAUI Advanced Diver.

During this course, you will learn how to choose the proper blend of Nitrox for your dive profile, determine maximum depth limits for your Nitrox mixture, analyze your breathing mixture, and plan and safely execute each dive. Your instructor will teach you about the physiology of oxygen and nitrogen; advantages, disadvantages, and risks of nitrox; oxygen toxicity; hazards and precautions of handling oxygen; the concept of Equivalent Air Depth; use of EANx with standard Air Dive Tables; common gas mixing procedures; and more.

After your exam, you can qualify for the Nitrox recognition card or go ahead and complete two dives to receive your Nitrox Diver certification card. And, your NAUI instructor can integrate your Nitrox course into your Scuba Diver course!

Dive First Aid for Professionals

Description: NAUI/DAN Diving First Aid for Professional Divers (DFA Pro) course is designed for commercial, professional, aquarium and scientific divers, providing first-aid knowledge and skills specific to these work environments. It also provides rescue management skills for dive masters and dive instructors. This course requires the eLearning component to be completed prior to the start of the in-person sessions.

NAUI Master Diver Certification

Class Description: Gain the in-depth knowledge of dive equipment, physics, physiology, and planning that will establish you as a recognized authority in your diving club or group. Hone your diving skills to the level of a professional NAUI Leader. Thrill to the adventure of open water dives in settings that will test your abilities to their limit while enhancing and expanding your diving capabilities. Then proudly wear the most coveted and respected patch in recreational diving - that of the NAUI Master Scuba Diver.

Equipment requirements: Students wanting to advance towards Master Scuba Diver will need to have their own equipment, including exposure suit, BCD, regulator system, computer, hood, and gloves. All of which can be purchased from EcoDiveNW with a personalized payment plan. Necessary equipment as outlined in open water and advanced open water are still required.

Cost: Class prices start at $1000.00 plus materials and includes e-learning, a minimum of 8 academic lectures, and open water training dives. Price excludes air fills. Students will need their own equipment as per standard. 

NAUI Rescue Diver

Class Description: Once you are 15 years of age and a certified scuba diver, you can expand your diving knowledge with a NAUI Rescue Scuba Diver or NAUI Advanced Rescue Scuba Diver course. Learn how to manage risks and effectively handle limited in-water problems and diving emergencies, how to assist and transport divers, and how to perform surface rescues and rescues from depth involving both boat and shore based skin and scuba divers.

CPR and First Aid certifications are required to complete this course. Your Rescue Scuba Diver training moves you on your pathway to becoming a NAUI Leader as a Skin Diving Instructor, Assistant Instructor, Divemaster, or Instructor.

NAUI Divemaster

Would you like to lead dives and dive trips; take certified divers on vacations to the world's best dive sites? Many Divemasters are employed full-time or work independently supervising certified divers during club, store, resort or charter tour and travel activities. As a NAUI Divemaster you get to introduce your clients to a new adventure every day! Divemaster is also the first step to becoming a NAUI Scuba Instructor.

NAUI Instructor

NAUI values and respects the knowledge, skills and abilities of its instructors. As such, NAUI Instructors are authorized and can be approved to teach every level of diving in which they possess the training, knowledge and experience. NAUI also allows its instructors to develop their own "instructor specified" specialty courses. If you are someone who seeks even more adventure and specialization, NAUI provides pathways to gaining Public Safety Diver, Technical Diver, and Freediving Instructor ratings.

All classes are taught and supervised by Instructor Rod Shroufe. Additional instructors/assistance working towards their own leadership certifications or not are all volunteering their time, effort, and additional expenses to bring you high quality classes with excellent education. Tips are highly encouraged.

There are no cash discounts on classes. Additional charges may apply if extra open water time is deemed necessary for certification. If you are concerned you may require more one-on-one time with us, please contact Rod Shroufe to discuss your concerns and any potential additional expenses. We do offer extended, semi-private, and private classes on request to address those who feel they would have greater success with more one-on-one instructing.
